WELCOME TO THE LIBERATION LINE
The Liberation Line provides free mental health support calls to organizers and activists. These are confidential, non-crisis, non-therapy phone calls facilitated by a trusted volunteer with experience offering mental health support and who is committed to Palestinian and collective liberation.
The Liberation Line was established in April 2024 as a form of community care at the height of the student encampments which called for the liberation of Palestine, institutional transparency and divestment from funding a genocide. We came to life in response to systems that do not serve us, radically reimaging and co-creating new paths forward.
WHO IS THE LIBERATION LINE FOR?
The Liberation Line is open to any organizer or activist involved in social or political change, who may be impacted by police or state brutality, counter protestor violence, racism, oppression, or is experiencing conflict, stress, burnout or trauma related to their community organizing or activism. These calls are free confidential, non-crisis, non-therapy calls meant to offer support, listening, resources, processing, debriefing or strategizing.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
The Liberation line offers call windows every other week.
As a safeguard, all callers must download the Signal app in order to receive a call from a Liberation Line volunteer.
You will receive a phone call via Signal from one of our volunteers at the time for which you booked your call.
We'll try calling twice, but if you are unreachable your call appointment will be cancelled and we encourage you to rebook a new call.
Calls are generally 30-minutes and you can book up to 2 calls in a week, but not on the same day.
Calls are conducted in English at this time, but callers can indicate when booking if they have a language request and we will try our best to accommodate.
We are unable to match callers with requests for specific volunteers.
We do not transfer to 911.
